Stone County Ironworks was built up from the humblest of beginnings. It was started in 1979 by a lone blacksmith in an old gas station in Mountain View, Arkansas. A master at the craft, he began selling at retail craft shows and by 1984, had branched out to wholesale accounts. His use of hand forging techniques was instantly popular, and it wasn't long before he had expanded to a larger building and larger workforce. 10 years after its foundation, Stone County Ironworks boasted over 100 employees and 3000 wholesale accounts.
As of 2010, Stone County Ironworks remains committed to its roots. Its newest collections include "The Pine Collection," which continues Stone County's expertise of framing stout iron pieces into delicate shapes that mimic nature. In this case, playful tree branches and pine cones reminiscent of a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. The motif adds lightness and a natural flare you wouldn't think possible with iron.
Another popular line is the "Forest Hill Collection." A deviation from the ordinary, the collection features textured ironwork that lends a dramatic atmosphere to any room. With an assortment of pieces that range from mirrors to benches to wall sconces, the result is an intriguing blend of ruggedness and refinement.
